I can relate to many issues that being part of this community can bring and have worked with children through to 90+ years old.
Some of these issues can be difficult to deal with alone. I offer affirmative therapy which may help if you are having negative experiences in relation to LGBTQIA+ problems. I understand that, for example, coming to terms with your sexuality or gender can be daunting, coming out to people can be scary, being your true self may seem impossible and living with the microaggression you might be dealing with can be difficult. This is just a small example of what some people have to go through.
You may have experienced prejudice if you are Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual, Trans, BAME LGBT, Disabled LGBT, an LGBT person of Faith, have HIV and more..... You may be having issues with accepting you are Non-Binary, PAN or Intersex. If you feel you could benefit from Counselling/Psychotherapy then please get in touch.
There is still a stigma around mental health and people can sometimes feel like they shouldn't seek help. If you feel like this, remember that everything is confidential. If you don't want messages or voicemails being sent to you for fear of someone finding out then let me know, we can find a way to ensure it is safe to be contacted.
I have worked with a range of people in different situations including: people in opposite sex marriages who may have feelings about something LGBTQ+ related, people living a double life, people who have experienced conversion therapy, different kinks and fetishes, people from various cultures etc..
Sometimes there can be a stigma within the community. Are you given a label or are you part of a 'tribe' such as Twink, Bear, Otter, Gym Bunny?
Lots of people are referred to in ways like this and it can be an issue for some people. It can feel like it isn't just a word used to describe you. It brings other connotations with it, for example if someone is described as a twink it can invoke others to think that you are submissive, or alternatively someone described as a gym bunny may be thought of as having dominant traits. Yes these descriptions fit to some but not everyone. You don't have to 'play a part' because of the way others see you.
Have you experienced 'Deadnaming'? (Being Trans and referred to by a previous name)
It isn't unusual to feel sad or angry about this. It can occur at any age and you might not like how other people decide to describe you.
